Elinchrom ELC 125 & ELC 500 Studio Flash Lights Unveiled
Meet the new Elinchrom ELC 125 and ELC 500 compact studio flash lights that offer features like TTL with manual lock, auto on, HSS, and smart pro-active cooling. Both the mid-range Elinchrom ELC 125 and ELC 500 strobe lights come with a 20W LED modeling lamp with 92 CRI rating.
TTL with Manual Lock & Auto On
With the help of manual lock function, the new Elinchrom ELC strobes can quickly switch from TTL to Manual without losing the exposure settings. And the auto-on function always keeps the new flash lights in standby mode with the last settings.
Smart Pro-Active Cooling
Elinchrom’s proprietary Smart Pro-Active Cooling technology helps the ELC 125 and ELC 500 to effectively maintain cool temperatures even under heavy workloads. With this technology, the new flash lights get the ability to adapt the cooling cycles by learning the shooting style of the user.
LED Modeling Light
The new Elinchrom ELC 125 and ELC 500 also come with the 20W LED modeling light supporting 92 CRI rating and light output up to 3000 lumens at 5700K daylight. Along with the strobes, this continuous light can also go down to 7 Watts.
Compatibility
Both of the flash lights offer direct compatibility with Elinchrom’s wide range of light modifiers via the bayonet Quick-Lock system. The integrated skyport radio-frequency system makes the ELC 125 and 500 compatible with up to 7 camera brands. To add non-Elinchrom flash lights to the wireless setup, you can take advantage of the optional Elinchrom Skyport Receiver Plus.
Elinchrom ELC 125 Flash Recycling Time, HSS, Color Stability, and Design
The 125W model Elinchrom ELC 125 features a recycling time of 0.1 – 0.8s at 120V and 0.06 – 0.45s at 230V. With HSS (High Sync Speed), the flash speed is synchronizable up to 1/8000s. While the company boasts its color accuracy throughout the spectrum, note that the color stability still varies around +/- 150K. In terms of design, its two-way metal tilt-head allows large modifiers to be adjusted precisely with ease.
Elinchrom ELC 500 Flash Recycling Time, HSS, Color Stability, and Design
Elinchrom ELC 500 features a flash recycling time (different from ELC 125) of 0.09 – 1.9s at 120V and 0.06 – 1.1s at 230V. Just like ELC 125, the ELC 500 offers the same HSS speeds and color accuracy. However, the color stability differs in both the models. In ELC 500, the color accuracy fluctuates around +/- 200K which is more than ELC 125 (+/- 200K).
