Zeiss DTI 3/35: 1st Thermal Imaging Hunting Camera from Zeiss

Zeiss has unveiled its first thermal imaging hunting camera, the ZEISS DTI 3/35. Along with an ergonomic design and intuitive controls, it boasts the ability to produce high contrast images even at night. ZEISS DTI 3/35 features an LCOS display with 1280 x 960 resolution and 50Hz frame rate while its image sensor supports a resolution of 384 x 288. For optimum zoom performance while hunting, the new ZEISS thermal imaging camera offers step by step adjustments in 0.5x increments up to 4x digital zoom range.

One of the great features of the camera is the ability to live-stream via the ZEISS Hunting app on the smartphone. Additionally, hunters can also share or transfer the data to the smartphone. In order to establish connectivity, either a cable or a WiFi connection is required.

In terms of storage, the ZEISS DTI 3/35 comes with 15 GB onboard internal storage. And the Li-ion battery offers a long run time up to 7 hours.

Unlike ordinary thermal imaging cameras, ZEISS DTI 3/35 offers an ergonomic and ambidextrous design that fits with the natural posture of both left and right hands. The shape allows the fingertips to rest right on top of the control buttons. Even with gloves on, a user can accurately adjust the controls.

Supporting 35mm focal length, the new ZEISS thermal imaging camera can provide a 19m field of view at 100 meters.

Availability

ZEISS DTI 3/35 thermal imaging camera will be available by Autumn 2020. However, the pricing remains unclear as of now.
