Tokina is out with its new and improved lens with ultra-wide focal length ranging from 11-16mm. It is available in Canon EF and Nikon F mounts. This Tokina atx-i lens offers accurate image quality due to the elements it uses which we will discuss below. With the constant maximum aperture of f/2.8, this lens will offer stable brightness performance across the zoom range.
This zoom lens contains a complex mechanism with 13 elements in 11 groups. Dual aspheric elements along with a pair of SD low dispersion elements, and a large-diameter molded element are also a part of that mechanism. This helps this lens to eliminate chromatic aberrations. According to Tokina, atx-i 11-16mm f2.8 CF lens will offer edge-to-edge sharpness even at maximum aperture.
Since ultra-wide lenses can cause unpleasing distortions at the edges, this lens claims to have minimal distortion and breathing. The optics in this lens can minimize flares and ghosting effects. Due to that, the images look very sharp and accurate with nice contrast. Another benefit of this wide zoom lens is that the front element has a waterproof coating which makes it very easy to clean.
