Moment is bringing its new Variable ND Filters in the market for DJI Mavic 2 Pro as well as standard 67mm, 77mm, and 82m DSLR and mirrorless camera lenses. All of the options are available in either 2-5 f-stop (ND4 – ND32) or 6-9 f-stop (ND64- ND512) ranges. Interestingly, Moment is the now the world’s first manufacturer to produce cinema-grade Variable NDs for Mavic 2 Pro.
Variable ND Filters for DJI Mavic 2 Pro
Featuring a premium Fused Silica Glass, the new Mavic 2 Pro Cine Variable ND filters provide a sharp image across the frame without introducing vignetting or color fringing. Additionally, the 16 layer anti-reflective coating reduces the effect of reflections that can soften the contrast of the image. In order to prevent cross-polarization, these VND filters come with hard stops at both ends of the range.
Since weight significantly impacts the performance of the drone, Moment uses aerospace-grade materials in these Variable ND filters to keep the weight at a minimum.
Two available options include:
- 2-5 stop (ND4 – ND32)
- 6-9 stop (ND64- ND512)
Pricing and Availability
Both of the DJI Mavic 2 Pro Variable ND Filters are available to ship at the same price costing $79.99 USD (each). However, if you buy the pack, you can get them at a lower price of 149.99 USD. Along with each of the options, you will get a metal carrying tin and also a microfiber cleaning cloth.
Moment VND Filters for 67mm, 77mm, and 82mm Lenses
Moment also introduced new Variable ND filters for standard DSLR and mirrorless camera lenses with 67mm, 77mm, and 82mm thread sizes. Just like VNDs for Mavic 2 Pro, these filters offer the same 16-layer anti-reflective coating, scratch-resistant surface, zero cross-polarization, and more.
Utilizing Schott B270 Pro Cinema Glass, Moment VND filters are able to deliver pristine optical quality without introducing unnatural artifacts. With the help of Moment’s proprietary laser-etched graphics, you can easily figure out the stop you’re shooting from behind the viewfinder. All of these filters are also compatible with the standard center pinch-caps. One thing to keep in mind is that lenses with a focal length of less than 16mm will not be compatible with these VND filters.
In terms of weight, the 67mm, 77mm, and 82mm VNDs weigh 39.7g, 47.9g, and 51.8g respectively.
Pricing and Availability
No matter which stop range you choose, the price for each Moment Variable ND filter will remain the same. But the price changes when it comes to filter thread sizes. Individually, the 67mm, 77mm, and 82mm filters will cost $149.99, $159.99, $169.99 USD respectively. Whereas with the “2 Pack” they will cost $279.99 $299.99 $319.99 USD respectively.
