LG is ready to introduce its new line of Ultra monitors in CES 2020 that includes UltraFine, UltraGear, and UltraWide monitors. The widest among these new members in the family is the 2020 LG UltraWide 38WN95C Monitor with a 37.5″ curved screen. Not only the screen is wide, but the aspect ratio is also bigger with 21:9 instead of 16:9.
Nano IPS Display
LG 38WN95C monitor uses a Nano IPS display that utilizes nanoparticles at the LED backlight of the IPS display. Due to this technology, this LG ultrawide monitor is able to cover 98% of DCI-P3 color gamut.
Resolution
Unlike the new UltraFine Ergo 32UN880 and UltraGear 27GN950, LG UltraWide 38WN95C supports QHD+ (3840 x 1600) resolution instead of 4k UHD (3840 x 2160). However, it supports a bigger screen size with a bigger (21:9) ratio.
144Hz Refresh Rate
The refresh rate of 144Hz will hardly matter for photo and video editors but gamers will greatly admire such rates. Furthermore, it supports a response time of 1ms that is again a huge benefit for gamers. All these specifications clearly show that this monitor aims directly at gamers. But it is also a great choice for video and color editing tasks, thanks to its ultrawide color gamut.
VESA DisaplayHDR600
In terms of brightness, LG 38WN95C is capable of outputting a typical luminance value of 450 nits. Since it also supports VESA DisplayHDR600 certification, it can reach a maximum brightness of 600 cd/m2.
Connectivity
The new 2020 LG 38WN95C UltraWide curved Monitor boasts thunderbolt 3 connectivity that allows for a maximum bandwidth of 40GB/s. Along with this superfast connection, you also get 1x DisplayPort and 2x HDMI ports. Additionally, there are 2x USB downstream ports that will allow you to connect USB peripheral devices as well.
Adjustable Stand
LG UltraWide 38WN95C comes with a desktop stand that supports swivel, tilt, and height adjustments. In comparison, the new UltraFine Ergo model allows you to extend, retract, and pivot the monitor in addition.
