Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mk III Mirrorless Camera

After the success of OM-D E-M5 Mark II, the company didn’t make any announcement about the next version of this lineup, and users were getting curious about the silence. Back in August, Olympus made it clear that they will definitely work on this lineup. After that, images of the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mk III started surfing on the internet. We hope the information is true.

The launch date is said to be the 17th of October which is not that far. The new body could be lighter in weight with lots of plastic but it will still be weatherproof. What photographers will find interesting is the 121-point Cross-Type PDAF system along with a 20MP image sensor borrowed from the flagship E-M1 series. It could offer the same BLS Battery used in Olympus Pen and E-M10 lineup.

The predecessor mark ii supported an MFT image sensor of 16MP and it was a favorite mirrorless option for a lot of photographers especially on a budget. Olympus would want to make sure that the price to performance value for the new OM-D E-M5 Mk III stays reasonable but it would definitely cost a little more than the previous model due to upgraded system.
