Canon 1DX Mark III Will Launch in Feb With 30fps Burst Rate

After a long wait, rumors have started leaking out about the new Canon 1DX Mark III. It will succeed 1DX Mark II which is presently Canon’s flagship DSLR. This DSLR is expected to launch in the beginning of February 2020. Lets see what’s so exciting about this camera.

So far only Sony a9 and a9II had the ability to shoot stills continuously at a speed of 20fps without any blackouts. Now Canon 1DX Mark III will surpass that record with a burst rate of whopping 30fps. Canon Rumors state that this camera will support 28.1MP full frame CMOS sensor. For image processor, Canon will use Dual Digic 9 Processor.

This will be the first time that an image processor would be changed in 1D series. The predecessor didn’t support In Built Image Stabilization, but this wont be the case with the new Mark III version. It is also possible that it can shoot 4k videos at 10 bits per channel with 4:2:2 color sampling.

The design of the camera will likely be the same in majority but expect some minor changes. The LCD display of Mark III will be brighter and larger offering more resolution.

Exact details about the video features has not leaked out yet but it will obviously support 4k DCI at 60 fps just like its predecessor . It will be quite interesting to see if it can steal the spotlight from the upcoming Sony a7siii too.
